Hello there. Everything alright with you?
Monday and Tuesday have been and gone and at work we were blessed with the presence of the Director and my manager – and a four hour meeting this afternoon. All very nice and well seeing as I’m new and just sit there listening to the ideas float back and forth without really managing to grasp what they’re talking about but somehow arriving at the point when they’ve moved onto the next one. Still, it makes a change from meetings regarding who will clean the coffee machine and plans to put into practice repeated at every single meeting and never actually put into practice (like who will clean the coffee machine, these are real issues don’t you know).
Today I also got confirmation of a two day trip away with work for the presentation of the new catalogue for this year, taking place at the end of March. Exciting.
Other thoughts? I’m glad you asked – I bought €200 worth of clothes to find that one website thinks that it’s ok a size 10 (UK) pair of trousers is too baggy but a S/M dress is so tight I may as well walk around naked. I am a standard size 10, never had this discrepancy before with sizes. To add to that I am not entitled to free returns because I live outside of the UK, so I have to pay to send this stuff back, pay out again to reorder the items in bigger and smaller sizes, then wait to be refunded for the returned items. I can’t afford to do this straightaway either as my credit card has been debited with an extra €116 due to ‘authorisations’. Wtf is that all about?! This was done by the credit card company I’d like to add, I’ve already emailed them asking for an explanation but no reply as of yet. Seeing as the balance comes out of my account the month after I’m waiting for the cut-off date so I can use it to reorder and pay it in April.
To top things off, this means I have to pay for my glasses straight out of my bank account, which is nice because they’ll be paid for but I was hoping to postpone this payment until March after I’d been paid, but this extra €116 has scuppered that! I shouldn’t be too short until pay-day but, all the same, I would prefer it if these things could not come about all at once please.
Thanks, very kind.
